25006B Meridian 1 PBX Large Switch Installation and Maintenance

Course Description

This course provides the skills and techniques that are required to install and maintain the large range of Meridian 1 switches.

Length: 5 days

Intended Audience

This course is aimed at installation, maintenance and support staff that will have an involvement with Options 51C, 61C and 81C.

Prerequisite Courses:

25046B Meridian 1 PBX Core Technology

Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course the student will be able to:
Describe Options 51-81C architectures, call processing and bus structures
Install UEMs, systems terminals, system monitors and alarm cabling
Install cabling, power fail transfer, and core equipment
Set switch settings on circuit cards and install
Cable and power up system
Input system configuration records
Connect peripheral equipment to the main distribution frame and cross connect analogue trunks
Install and replace Processor cards, digital line cards, analogue line cards, analogue trunk cards and install a terminal
Install attendant console and digital/analogue handsets
Gather system status information
Perform maintenance functions including diagnostic tests and replacement procedures
Perform a parallel reload
